A) While reading the "Are you surviving on your Security Pay" thread, I noticed a quote from "Black Ceasar" that included a snippit of one of his prior employer's ranks structure. It noted the Ranks of Colonel, Sergeant Major, and First Sergeant. I was curious to know what type of rank structures other companies use.

Sep 15, 2012 · I feel that it cheapens the ranks; you have a long-term serving member of the military who worked his ass off and through merit, made the rank of Sergeant, and you have a 24 year old private security guard who has been at the site for 2 years holding the same "rank." Security is a business, and as such, I prefer the use of business titles.

Jun 15, 2013 · We don't really have military- style ranks (just Security Officer, Senior Security Officer, Site Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, etc.) but do have the same style of rank epaulettes as the cops and the military do have, plus an additional emblem for completed vocational training, and you occasionally hear "they want to look like real cops" types ...

Similar ranks exist within the guard division of the company. "We appreciate all the hard work you've done, the dedicated hours you have worked, and the lives you have saved. However, since this is your third time being late to work, we are terminating your employment here."
