Sassandra is a town in southern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of and the seat of Sassandra Department. It is also a commune and the seat of Gbôklé Region in Bas-Sassandra District. Sassandra lies on the Gulf of Guinea at the mouth of the Sassandra River.

Sassandra Department is a department of Gbôklé Region in Bas-Sassandra District, Ivory Coast. In 2021, its population was 353,228 and its seat is the settlement of Sassandra. The sub-prefectures of the department are Dakpadou, Grihiri, Lobakuya, Médon, Sago, and Sassandra.

Sassandra is a sleepy yet charming fishing village the Southwestern Forests region of Côte d'Ivoire.

The Sassandra River is a river of western Ivory Coast in West Africa. It is formed by the confluence of the Tienba River, which originates in the highlands of north-western Ivory Coast, and the Gouan River (also known as the Bafing Sud River), which originates to the west in the highlands of Guinea.

Le département de Sassandra a une population estimée à 108 000 habitants et englobe aussi la sous-préfecture de Dapkadou.

This town once was the major port in West Ivory Coast, until San Pedro took that role in 1960 and eclipsed Sassandra. What remains are buildings of importance, or rather, the ruins of those buildings.

Autrefois nommée San Andrea, la ville de Sassandra est située à l'embouchure du fleuve du même nom. Un emplacement stratégique et agricole favorable qui favorisa par le passé le commerce et les échanges, de marchandises mais aussi d'hommes.

Sassandra est la Préfecture de la région du Gboklê (ancien nom de Sassandra). Malgré un potentiel touristique considérable, elle vivote d'une pêche intensive marquée par les saisons et du fumage massif du poisson, et d'activités agricoles.
