Aug 31, 2017 · Every day I come across something that makes me think that Advance Steel is a great product put together by some intelligent software developers that haven't a clue about structural steel!  I find it incredulous that Advance Steel does not have a macro for creating sag rods!    I have created one using the solution found here on the forum.

Aug 6, 2021 · It would be so easy to just put in the threaded rod in a macro as I described, also allowing the macro to put holes in the adjacent members if needed. Not only for sag rods, but I've also had threaded rod connections through concrete walls, where I couldn't obtain an A325 bolt that is 14" long! Please make this macro!

Mar 23, 2017 · a threaded end is not possible in AS, you could give the round profile an information for it but modelling is not possible.

You could also play around with the Side rail anti sag rod macro in the connection vault under purlins & cold rolled but you may need to put a couple of dummy beams in and remove the joint box afterwards before deleting dummy beams. There will be no intelligence in the connection.
