Sachein is a 2005 Indian Tamil -language romantic comedy film directed by John, and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. It is a remake of the director's 2002 Telugu film Neetho with minor changes. [1][2] The film stars Vijay in the title role along with Genelia D'Souza and Bipasha Basu, while Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Raghuvaran play supporting roles.

Vijay plays Sachein, a carefree, confident, and fun-loving guy who falls for Shalini (Genelia D'Souza), a sweet and straightforward girl who initially rejects him. Genelia, as Shalini, brings her trademark innocence and vibrancy to the screen, making her character instantly lovable.

Vijay and Genelia are classmates in a college at Ooty. Genelia rejects all proposals from lovestruck boys. The two have a few differences initially, but soon become good friends. When Vijay expresses his love Genelia rejects it. But Vijay confidently tells her that she will fall in love with him in 30 days.
