SW620 [SW-620] - CCL-227 - ATCC
SW620 [SW-620] is an adherent cell line isolated from the large intestine of a Dukes C colorectal cancer patient. This cell line is highly tumorigenic and has applications in gastrointestinal (GI), cancer, and drug research.

SW620 Xenograft Model
SW620 is a human colon cancer cell line that was established from a lymph node metastasis of a primary colon adenocarcinoma. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide, and adenocarcinomas account for the majority of cases.
SW620 cells harvested from tissue culture flasks are implanted into the subcutaneous space of the left flank of the mice. Resulting tumors are monitored by calipering twice weekly. Animal weights are measured three times weekly. Animal behaviour is monitored daily.

SW620 was derived from a later metastasis in the same donor; after further characterization, Fogh concluded that SW620 was authentic but the other 6 cell lines were misidentified [13]. SW480 and SW620 continue to be widely used as models for colorectal carcinoma and tumor progression [14].

2013年9月12日 · Using a couple of isogenic human colon cancer cell lines derived either from the primary tumor (SW480) or from a lymph node metastasis (SW620), we found that only SW480 cells were sensitive to anoikis. Bim upregulation but not Mcl-1 degradation was determined to be a critical factor of anoikis initiation in SW480 cells.
Human SW620 cells were isolated from a patient with a colorectal adeno-carcinoma, from a lymph node as metastatic site. As routine quality controls, the cells are regularly checked for Mycoplasma contamination and authenticity (via STR DNA Typing). During surgery, tumors cells are implanted into the caecum, a part of the colon compartment.
