The U.S. Navy is providing an evolutionary succession of enhancements to the AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare system currently installed on its ships through its Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP). There are currently three established block upgrades and a fourth is planned.

The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin the SEWIP Block 2 contract in 2009 to upgrade the antenna, receiver, and combat system interface for the AN/SLQ-32. AN/SLQ-32C (V)6 or “SEWIP Lite” is part of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program product line.
SEWIP (AN/SLQ 32 V6) Block 2 incorporates a new antenna system, enhanced processing capabilities, and a High Gain High Sensitivity subsystem to improve battlefield situational awareness.
