Pards, got a new Rossi 92 357 which feeds short 38's marvellously( Im talking COAL of 1.43" and wide FP bullets, and Im really impressed with that) but despite being a big gorilla, pushing rounds into that gate is bringing tears to my eyes by the 10th round. The gate was rough so that got fixed.
Do you have a favorite 38 Special round for the Rossi 92?
2015年2月20日 · I am also fairly new to SASS but a lifetime reloader. I purchased a Rossi '92 in 357 in SS with a 20" barrel as my first lever gun. I thought it ran pretty smooth and handled 38 specials LRNFP all the the way to 357's with 170gr SWC pretty regularly, though it tended to catch occasionally with the longer 357's.

2016年3月5日 · Personally I have a 20 inch octagon R92 and love it! In 357 the extra barrel length really will not contribute much to accuracy at long range. However little extra weight at the end of the barrel might help you hold steady are at long range, but will be a little slower into action, marginally, than the shorter barrel as a main match gun.

2013年6月7日 · Had the same problem with my Rossi 92 and used Marauders tune up guide for Rossi 92's and used some shim stock from old feeler gauges and fixed it and haven't had a problem since. Tough part is drilling or putting small hole in shim for the screw that holds guide in place. Very easy to do. Jackrabbit #414

2022年10月31日 · You could try shooting .38 spcl loaded long - 1.503, as I recall. That puts the crimp below the normal crimp groove, but a good roll crimp works well. Bullet shape is critical in the Rossi .357, so a truncated cone FP works best with a long ogive for harmonious feeding. RNFPs don’t feed as well at that length.

I installed the Palo Verdi Gunworks spring kit after disassembling the rifle, cleaning out the factory grease and re-lubing with my preferred lubricants (lightly). Made a WORLD of difference in the smoothness of the action, and further use will make it even slicker.
