Riding a smaller framed bike? | CycleChat Cycling Forum
2014年6月27日 · The bike I sat on was a BMC and had a 51 size frame( I'm normally a 54/53 frame) so its one size smaller, the saddle was way to high for me by several inches but with my foot on a stool I could sit on the bike and move it around. I have to say it felt better than my other bike which is a medium frame size.
Most common gearing on a road bike | CycleChat Cycling Forum
2025年2月1日 · I'm slowly heading towards getting a road bike after years of using an MTB. What's the most common set up I should be looking for if riding in a hilly area. Lots of rolling countryside near me with the occasional flat bit, so likely need lower gearing than top speed. Prefer disc brakes but is that a disadvantage with road bikes?
How to keep riding in your 80 s | CycleChat Cycling Forum
2016年3月28日 · I told her about the e-bike that @Pale Rider was riding on my recent hilly forum ride and she was very interested in finding out more. I had previously dismissed them as unsuitable for these hills, but PR demonstrated that the combination of leg/motor power PLUS a spare battery pack is enough to cover 40-50 hilly miles, which is all she would ...
What's it like to ride an aero bike compared to a normal road bike?
2020年7月5日 · An aerodynamic road bike only gives a minimal speed advantage because the bulk of the wind resistance is caused by the rider, tube shape is only a minor part of the problem. A TT bike will significantly alter the riding position, getting your head and shoulders lower and bringing your arms closer together allowing you to cut through the air ...
30 minute jog...equivalent bike ride? | CycleChat Cycling Forum
2011年3月30日 · Finally, you can't scale the effort of riding at different speeds linearly - there's a power law involved. I plugged the numbers into an online cycling calculator. For a particular cyclist and bike, riding at 12 mph required a power output of 59 Watts. That same cyclist at 18 mph would be using 159 Watts. 1.5 times the speed but 2.7 times the ...
38c tyres on road bike | CycleChat Cycling Forum
2024年12月25日 · Personally, I would go for them. I ride with marathon+ on my Cube road bike (though only in a 28c - my bike would not take a 38c). If you are not a racer, nor particularly wanting to ride as fast as possible, then they are not "horrible" as some on here would have you believe. And they are VERY puncture resistant.
Bike for commute Riverside 700 vs Cobalt 2 vs alternatives.
2024年5月29日 · If you are buying a bike for transport, reliability is key. The problem with low end stuff is that it's often designed for occasional riding rather than regular or daily riding. Unfortunately buying bikes isn't really like buying cars, where the cheapest cars are often as reliable as much more expensive cars.

2011年2月18日 · Hi my bike has just been serviced and I have to get it. Can I cycle in jeans as I haven't got cycling trousers as yet, bit worried jeans might get worn. Apologies if this is a silly question.
Why do I feel really ill after a long bike ride?
2015年5月17日 · Hi, I am new to this site and also quite new to cycling. I bought a cyclocross bike about 5 months ago with an aim to find a new hobby and become fit in the process. I general commute a few days a week which is an 8 mile round trip and then go for a long ride on Sunday's (weather permitting)...
My first road bike - I prefer a more upright position - how to …
2020年4月28日 · - I didn't know better at the time and trusted them. I encountered back and arm aches and when I went to a local, more specialised bike shop for a 'fit' they told me it was the wrong size. They weren't trying to sell me a new bike but did attempt adjustments on my bike which made a slight improvement but not sufficiently for me to keep the bike!
