Regelia velutina - Wikipedia
Regelia velutina, the Barrens regelia, [2] is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. It is a large shrub with greyish green, velvety leaves and large clusters of brilliant red to orange flowers on the ends of its branches in spring and summer.

It is a large shrub to about 3 metres with attractive, greyish green, velvety leaves to about 13mm long. The large clusters of brilliant red/orange flowers (occasionally yellow) open in spring and are well displayed towards the ends of the branches. Following flowering, seeds develop in woody capsules similar to those formed with Melaleuca species.

Handsome upright shrub 6-15'x 3-9' with greyish small leaves and terminal bright red flowers in spring-summer. It can be shy to flower in cultivation. Plants prefer well-drained soils in full sun and are hardy to moderate frost and extended dry periods. These showy shrubs are excellent shrubs for mixed hedge or screen.

Although the flowers are stunning, the best part of this plant for me are those soft leaves that glimmer in the sun. Similar to Leucadendron argenteum but without the 'Sissy La-la' if it gets too warm... or too cold... or too far from the coast.
