After acclamation, and for the first day, the puffer fish seemed happy, floating and swimming near the top of the water, looking very active and mobile. But he seemed not to want to eat any of the dry or cubed food products.

The bubble is very large maybe the size of my fist but he won't release it! if he floats upside down he just takes in air from the gil closest to the side the bubble tilts toward!

2022年11月14日 · Oh - sorry to see. If the fish doesn't retract that on its own, the prognosis is not good I'm afraid. Sometimes, internal parasites can cause a fish to prolapse, other times, we just don't know the reason. Epsom salts in the water won't help (seawater is already a high percentage of magnesium sulfate). Peas is a remedy for fancy goldfish.

2018年1月1日 · The tank is a six foot 125 with a 55 gallon sump. There is a good amount of rock in the DT, but there are no other fish in the tank. Nitrates have been high, but I have brought them down to around 30 with water changes. The puffer isn't breathing heavy and it is very active (and interactive) around the tank.

2019年8月7日 · I have been in the reef hobbie and FOWLR hobbie for over 30 years and this is my first porcupine puffer. It’s a baby and only in a 45 gallon for right now but he is all alone with just a sand gobbie. The fish was eating last night but not tonight.. still swimming and acting ok 50 % of time but on bottom a lot more now than in the past.

2016年3月3日 · A few days ago the porcupine puffer slowed down with his eating to the point he almost stopped and noticed today after work that the cow fish was gone and now the porcupine has been acting very sick. Mind you these two use to swim together take turns eating etc etc no bite marks no fights no aggression in the tank at all.
