I am not from Plovdiv but In my town we have a gypsy hood that is similar to it, only smaller. Like twenty years ago it was indeed pretty dangerous to go there- if they see someone with a lighter skin they would at least rob him or chase him away with stones or knives or something.

2021年10月3日 · Plovdiv is a city with many universities and top level high school, so there are a lot of people who give places for rent, but it's mostly short term. Like until the tenant graduates, etc. So for a more prolonged stay it's just something to be discussed and agreed upon.

I just went to Sofia and Plovdiv a few weeks ago. In my opinion, Sofia is definitely worth seeing, it’s one of the oldest cities in Europe and has tons of cool history and culture. Check out the hidden bars as well if you go. Plovdiv was beautiful, I could’ve spent way longer there.

2021年9月18日 · Plovdiv has a lot of foreigners from all over, there are FB groups that hold meetups, we made some good friends from them, Bulgarian and other foreigners. The only slight negative is some of the bureaucracy can be a pain, getting residency, bank accounts etc usually take a few visits, well worth it though.
