PL1 problem. How to turn off the limit - TechPowerUp
Nov 3, 2021 · PL2 should be higher or equal to PL1. These CPUs do not consume that much power so you can set PL1 and PL2 to 85 and set the turbo time limit to the default, 28 seconds. On the main screen of ThrottleStop, do not check Clock Mod and do not check Set Multiplier.
PL 1 limit red on Throttlestop | TechPowerUp Forums
Jun 30, 2020 · When your CPU is throttling, ThrottleStop shows POWER in red and Limit Reasons shows PL1 glowing red. It is the long term turbo power limit that is holding you back. Power consumption is just under 24W. This means your laptop is ignoring the 40W turbo power limit request that you set in ThrottleStop. Some laptops do this.
i5-14600k owners can you test 65w pl1 and 100w pl2?
Feb 5, 2025 · I don't have a recent Intel CPU to run any tests, but I would make the following suggestion. Surely it's better to continue gaming during power cuts with pl1 or pl2 limits set in the BIOS and lower FPS, than trip out the backup mains supply by pulling too much current? The alternative is to go out and buy yourself a 1kVA petrol generator.
Throttlestop problem EDP OTHER and PL 1 - TechPowerUp
Apr 14, 2020 · When PL1 and EDP OTHER light up in red at the same time, this is always because of the PL1, long term turbo power limit. You have both of these limits set to 90 in ThrottleStop. That is a good thing but there are actually 3 unique sets of turbo power limits that control Intel CPUs.
ThrottleStop - Constant red edp other | TechPowerUp Forums
Sep 12, 2020 · Hi, I've used Throttlestop for years and it just works. Thank you, UncleWebb. Recently I've noticed that it stopped working, but the PL1 and PL2 are not the issue here (yellow), but what limits me is "EDP Other" (Red) in CORE, GPU, and RING. My CPU will boost up to about 17W but nothing else...

Aug 18, 2020 · Got the settings corrected and it's working like a charm! I got a more stable undervolt, it passed all TS Bench tests back to back (64, 256 and 1024MB) with no errors although the speed is capped around 3.1 Ghz on all 6 cores while peaking around 74c on the hottest core and 66c on the coolest one with the fans set to Auto.

Throttlestop EDP Other; Pl1; Pl2 Limits, Yellow and Red
Oct 23, 2020 · I have find a pretty good solution for that kind of problem, you have to use XTU and throttlestop simultaneously, and config PL1 & PL2 levels to 25W, then in throttlestop enter the FIVR option and config the turbo ratio limits to 30 -32 for (1 and 2 cores active) and 26-29 for (3 and 4 cores active), then monitoring your cpu frenquency when gaming.
Constant "EDP Other" under RING in ThrottleStop - TechPowerUp
Nov 16, 2019 · PL1 lights up in red when the CPU is being limited by the short term turbo power limit. Short term, the CPU can operate at a higher power limit. After a while, to make sure the CPU does not overheat, it will switch to the long term turbo power limit.
