2020年6月10日 · Because in the beginning Pitou was very "creepy", she assumed she was a boy (and I guess it's also because Pitou use boku). She asked the anime director of hxh 2011 and he had no doubt Pitou was a girl. The translator finally says "pitou is a girl". The person who wrote the databook were probably thinking like the translator.

Another part most fans tend to ignore is the direct interaction between Netero and Pitou where Pitou was at full strength, Togashi then proceeds to explain that all it took Pitou to launch the attack was 0.1 seconds, BUT then something VERY contradictory happens, and that is Hearing Netero talk for more than 0.1 seconds, during 0.1 seconds!

But generally I think People think Pitou’s hot or think she’s really cute. People excuse characters based off attractiveness and looks constantly. Look at Hisoka or Illumi

HxH is a legendary anime with plenty of amazing moments that are unique and wonderful in their own right. But to me, Pitou’s first appearance was something else, here’s why: I remember when Rammot first unlocked his men and was floundering it as if he was already the king.

2022年4月6日 · I do enjoy the anime version more, but I also like how okay HxH was in general with the idea of biological gender not defining how you should look, act or identify (an example is that Killua only has biological brothers). Pitou being biological male that dresses, acts and looks like a female shouldn't be such a big damn issue.

2024年2月11日 · Most people think Pitou is a girl, like the 2011 anime character designer always saw Pitou as a girl in the manga. But the Shueisha staff who did the databook thought Pitou was a boy as they called her with "kare" (he) in the 2004 databook and then in the yu yu hakusho databook (which contains chimera ant arc info from HxH).

Argument: Pitou is girl - has visible breast in the anime. She grows them in the manga or Togashi adjusted the design. Argument: Pitou is boy - flat chested for much of the manga and the English translation at least uses masculine language referring to him. Argument: Pitou has no gender - gender not specified in canon source.

Pitou was strong, all of the royal guards are than a good chunk of the nen users we've seen up until that point. Kite would've fought a lot better with 2 arms sure but Pitou was a lot of unknown factors when they first met and as HxH keeps emphasizing, you need good strategy to beat a superiour opponent.
