How effective was the British Army's PIAT, used during WWII
May 5, 2018 · Rifle Brigade infantry formed 'PIAT gangs' and moved among the houses stalking the 'Panthers' (actually a Tiger and PzIVs) defending the place. They managed two hits on a Tiger but failed to penetrate the armour, but the tank nevertheless retreated out of the village.

Am I mad or is the Bazooka a downgrade from the PIAT?
Sep 3, 2022 · With the PIAT I was having consistent success, even if the range is obviously a lot worse. Talking about the first Bazooka unlock, I don't have the second one yet. I have gone back to PIAT and having better games. Seems odd to me, that you get improved range at the cost of really bad penetration ability.

Jan 15, 2022 · M1 bazooka deals slightly less damage, but has little falloff, more ammo and higher restore rate than pzf, which means it has more damage in total. Piat isn’t hard to use because most tanks you encounter will be in mid-close range (at long range, it’s hard to do anything even with the bazooka). For 95% of the game Piat is the best option.

Nov 1, 2018 · PIAT is better at splashing, 'faust is better for direct hits, IIRC. It could be the other way around, but that was the general idea. Edit: Found the original comment by danmitre. The PIAT is better to use for splash damage. The Panzerfaust is better for direct hits. The curve on the PIAT is much harder so it drops faster.

May 14, 2021 · I always use the piat. Better splash damage than the panzer to hit infantry behind cover. Panzer does more damage to infantry on direct hits. I also believe the piat does more damage to vehicles, at least in close range. I run piat, dynamite, and at bundle, so the added close range damage of the piat is ideal for my anti-armor play style.

The PIAT projectiles were not spring launched as many people believe. They had a propelling charge in the tail fin, similar to that used in mortar rounds, which fired the round off the spigot. The PIAT was a spigot mortar after all. The main spring in the PIAT functioned more like a main spring in a submachine gun.

Nov 5, 2020 · The PIAT deals the most damage and is effective against both armour and infantry, but it has high drop so you'll need to get close. The panzerfaust is basically a compromise between the bazooka and the PIAT. The biggest disadvantage (for me) is how long it takes to throw away an expended launcher and unpeel a new one.
