PDGFB - Wikipedia
Platelet-derived growth factor subunit B is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PDGFB gene. [5][6] The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor family. The four members of this family are mitogenic factors for cells of mesenchymal origin and are characterized by a motif of eight cysteines.

PDGFB gene - MedlinePlus
The PDGFB gene provides instructions for making one version (isoform) of the platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) protein. This protein is involved in many cellular processes, including cell growth and division (proliferation), maturation (differentiation), and movement.

PDGF is the major polypeptide mitogen in serum for cells of mesenchymal origin. Josephs et al. (1984) concluded that the SIS gene encodes 1 chain of human PDGF. PDGF has 2 dissimilar subunits, A and B. It is the B chain that has homology to SIS (Collins et al., 1985).
