Pax genes - Wikipedia
Within the mammalian family, there are four well defined groups of Pax genes. Pax group 1 (Pax 1 and 9), Pax group 2 (Pax 2, 5 and 8), Pax group 3 (Pax 3 and 7) and; Pax group 4 (Pax 4 and 6). Two more families, Pox-neuro and Pax-α/β, exist in basal bilaterian species.
PAX3 - Wikipedia
PAX3e is the longest isoform and consists of 10 exons that encode a 505 amino acid protein. In other mammalian species, including mouse, the longest mRNAs correspond to the human PAX3c and PAX3d isoforms, which consist of the first 8 or 9 exons of the PAX3 gene, respectively.
PAX2 - Wikipedia
PAX2 encodes paired box gene 2, one of many human homologues of the Drosophila melanogaster gene prd. The central feature of this transcription factor gene family is the conserved DNA-binding paired box domain.
The PAX Genes: Roles in Development, Cancer, and Other …
2024年2月29日 · Humans possess a group of nine related genes that form the PAX gene family. These genes encode proteins known as the PAX transcription factors, which control gene expression on a large scale and coordinate the development of …
Pax Genes - SpringerLink
2024年1月1日 · Pax genes are originally identified as homologs structurally related to the Drosophila pair-rule gene, paired, which encodes a transcription factor . There are nine members in the Pax gene family, which are categorized into four subclasses (Fig. 1 ) [ 2 , 3 ].
Pax genes: regulators of lineage specification and progenitor cell ...
2014年2月15日 · Paired box (Pax) genes encode transcription factors that contain a highly conserved DNA-binding domain called the paired domain (PD, Fig. 1A) and can be considered to be a principle regulator of gene expression.

2020年7月29日 · Herein, we provide a genomics update on the nine human PAX family members and PAX homologs in 16 additional species. We also present a comprehensive summary of human tissue-specific PAX transcript variant expression and describe potential functional significance of PAX isoforms.
PAX2 gene - MedlinePlus
The PAX2 gene belongs to a family of genes that plays a critical role in the formation of tissues and organs during embryonic development. Learn about this gene and related health conditions.
PAX8 - Wikipedia
Paired box gene 8, also known as PAX8, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the PAX8 gene. [5] This gene is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. Members of this gene family typically encode proteins which contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain.
