2005年3月31日 · The issue is not the length of the cable, it is how well you run the cable itself. You cannot staple and put to much pressure against the ethernet cable. Most definate do not press or put any staples through the cable. I suggest you buy those little clips with nails that go against the walls. Cat 5 cat 6 cable will run perfect.

2008年3月1日 · During a previous remodel, I had run and left an extra a length of the same UTP Cat-5e between one of the home run connected boxes, and a new box in that next room. I daisy chained that cable by punching down it’s end into the RJ-45 socket on top of the home run connection. Unfortunately, the “extension” socket does not work.

2008年1月24日 · Actually if the cable is following the proper CAT6 standards, it should be using RJ45/8P8C connectors (CAT5/5e uses RJ45/8P8C connectors also) and should fit into a standard RJ45 port. The connectors themselves may be of a higher grade, but it should still "fit" the port.

2017年4月18日 · The electrician normally runs the Cat5 as part of the wiring package. They only finish the ends in the rooms the cable runs to for a nice finish look. The other ends of the cables are just bundled together for the network provider to take care of. At least the cables are there.....no fun fishing wires after the house is completed.

Even with that, FIOS won't provision a BPON ONT with higher then 50/50 Mbps. My question was, besides the speed capability, what are the other advantages of GPON? Does it reduce latency, and why?

2024年8月14日 · I currently receive TV, home phone and broadband (500Mbps) from my cable company. The company have upgraded the cabling to Fibre. This is currently only to the external of the house and another crew will be coming to connect to internals. I have just had external insulation added to the house and I do not want new cabling running down the outside.

2014年6月3日 · when i use a wireless connection everything works fine, however when i use an ethernet cable and turn off the wireless (as the connection is a bit dodgy sometimes) i cant access certain websites, for instance the battlenet or origin websites. even this site i can open the forums and read threads, but when i try to login it only works if i am using wireless.
