New Mexico’s first State Park is set in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains pine forest, along Little Tesuque Creek. The park is a short drive from Santa Fe and offers excellent group facilities and campsites. There are beautiful hiking trails with spectacular views.

City of Rocks State Park - State Parks
The park encompasses a one square mile area in the scenic Chihuahuan desert region of southwestern New Mexico at an elevation of 5,200 feet. The “city” is a geologic formation made up of large, sculptured rock columns, or pinnacles, rising as high as 40 feet and separated by paths or lanes resembling city streets.

Camping - State Parks
On January 1, 2025, the New Mexico State Parks Division implemented changes to its Fees and Boating Rules. These changes include differentiation in resident and non-resident camping and day-use fees. The changes also impact life jacket wear and boat registration fees on human-powered vessels.
