The way breeding works is rather simple. Each Pal has a hidden 'breeding power' number between 10 and 1500. The lower the number the more rare or powerful the Pal is. All Pal Power levels can be found on the "Visual Data" tab of the sheet. The breeding power of both parents is averaged to determine the baby/egg's power:

You do this by breeding the perfect pal with a second pal of a different species that has no passive skills. If parents have more than four unique passive skills, the chance to inherit the desired skills will decrease linearly with the number of skills (e.g., 4/6 = ~66% * 10% = ~6.6%).

-Catch a pal with the best breeding power (the lower the better). Which, as of today, is unable to be determined and completely random across all pals. -Get Perfect IV's through breeding. -Get best (preferred) passive skills through breeding. -Make the pal level 5 via pal condenser. -Finally, fully upgraded preferred pal skills via pal souls.

Breeding takes the average of the two parent's numbers and assigns you a pal with a power level closest to that number. There are breeding calculators out there that will tell you the result of the egg from two parents, or the exact parental combinations needed to get a specific pal, but it is important to understand what is actually happening.

You're confusing paldex number and power. Anubis is paldex #100, Cremis is #18. Power is a hidden value that ensures you can't breed for example a legendary pal from basic pals. A low power number generally means rarer/stronger, and when breeding you average the power of the parents and get the result with the closest power value to that result.

If you're looking to breed pals for both passives and IVs, you should first try to get a pal with no passives, but max IVs (alpha pals tend to have above-average IVs, so look for high IVs from them). Failing that, you can settle for max IVs with no undesired passives.

In my personal opinion, these calculators are kinda cheaty. Even the concept of breeding a pal that you have not yet discovered/seen in the wild is op imo. I think it would be better if you were allowed to breed a certain kind of pal after encountering it and if you were able to capture it, the game would tell you how to breed it too.
