2009年11月29日 · my oldest had a leaky site~we would over inflate the balloon to 8 or even 10cc~got orders to let the stoma be without the tube and shrink down~or in the past, they would just go up a french size (now it seems they like the kids in small 14 fr to have somewhere to go if leaky or to heal over faster when the tube is pulled forever).

2020年4月20日 · Ouch !! The suggestion of using the Silver Nitrate inside the stoma, sounds unbearably Painful! I hope it closes without compkication. The Tracheotomy stoma ( in my neck) also took a while to close, even with sutures in !! The pinhole remained for a while.. Best of luck to you both, Dollbabe CJ

2020年11月16日 · You also had the PEG tube in for sometime so that is also another factor in this equation. I know when there is any pressure happening such as coughing etc, there will be leakage so perhaps counter pressure might help when you have such added pressure.

2008年6月17日 · When I first had my G-tube placed surgically, about 3 days later while I was still in the hospital, it started leaking profusely. The hospital didn't fix it, sent me home. As it turned out, the tube had come almost all the way out and the formula was spilling out rather than going into my stomach.

2010年3月17日 · I have a PEG tube and had the same problem with leakage and horrible smell. The balloon broke and the tube fell out , when the GI doc replaced it he treated the stoma site with something; I'm not sure what it was but it worked miracles. The stoma site healed over and the new tube fits tighter and no more leakage or bad smell.

2018年8月6日 · The reflux valve does wear out and leak. Weight changes can lead to the need to change the MIC KEY or MINI length to match the new depth of the stoma site. Also, tube size can be increased if it has worn the stoma larger. Going to a low profile from a dangle will look and probably feel better BUT it will definitely limit your blenderizing options.

2010年4月7日 · i agree, it's always best to accentuate the positive, rather than anticipate problems that may never arise. but i understand that, that is probably easier said than done. while nobody likes having a PEG, there are many positives. for me, it was much needed weight gain, more energy, and less pain/discomfort b/c i can decompress my stomach by venting the tube.
