2024年1月11日 · PBO stands for Precision Boost Overdrive. It's basically the CPU looking at available power and thermal overhead and deciding that it can use some additional voltage to override the default maximum clockspeed. It is completely safe. Needs to be enabled in the BIOS.

In my research it holds voltage longer with PBO to hold the higher frequency? This comes at the cost of temperature obviously but when i set a X10 scalar it doesn't just hold higher voltage it applies 0.5v more all the time to core VID... I have a custom water loop with CPU under its own 560mm rad. Temps aren't an issue. Is it worth running scalar?

2022年7月14日 · I watched the OptimumTech guide on undervolting with PBO2 and he said to disable PBO Limits to load the CPU's stock power profile (PPT, EDC, etc.). If I set my own PPT values (AMD CBS -> XFR Enhancement in Gigabyte B550I BIOS), for some reason I still see them reflected in Ryzen master even though PBO Limits are set to disabled.

2021年9月26日 · Wont show up in normal gameplay. The top one is the PBO. PBO is a whole lotta hassle for next to zero benefits, for me. I can gain more 1% and 0.1% fps if I had dualrank RAM. Because I tested that too. With dualrank (4 sticks SR) at 200 Mhz lower RAM speed I gained 1 fps avg and 2-4 fps on the lows. What do you know, better than PBO does.

2021年6月15日 · Basically PBO will allow your processor to consume more power for longer while staying at stock voltages meaning it will boost for longer. Auto OC will boost voltages beyond stock meaning it will go faster than boost frequencies for your processor if it is able.

2021年7月21日 · PBO auto settings: 270w max power but 140w typically in games . Multi core = 4.45ghz and single core = 5.1ghz All core custom OC: 220w max power using 1.27v. Multi core = 4.8ghz on CCX1 and 4.65ghz on CCX2. Single core = 4.8ghz I used my all core settings to benchmark only and got 31k in cinebench R23 Then went back to PBO for gaming.

2023年7月11日 · As for PBO, i don’t really know what values to put. Tried 105-60-120, +200mhz and PBO scalar set to 1x and reached 11400ish on cinebench (compared to the 10600ish reached with manual oc) but I’m not really sure of the temps and performance. Also I have the Thermalright assassin x 120 SE as a cooler. Thank you in advance guys!

2021年4月16日 · The auto options don't work. PBO doesn't work. Manual OC is apparently too dangerous due to static voltages. Ryzen 3700 and PBO has been a complete failure and pure disappointment for hitting advertised boost clocks. Not only for the performance, but a complete lack of OC guides that show any meaningful benefits.
