The Northern New Mexico Loop starts at Santa Fe Plaza, and winds through many of the most beloved hiking trails in northern New Mexico for 500 miles before returning to Santa Fe.

2019年6月9日 · The trail hits some really nifty locations in northern New Mexico, including the Jemez, Ghost Ranch, near Chama, Questa, Taos Ski Valley, Red River, Eagle Nest, Angel Fire, Sipapu, and the Pecos Wilderness.

The Northern New Mexico Loop is a 500 mile walk at the historic crossroads of the American Southwest, starting and ending at Santa Fe Plaza. The route explores everything from sere deserts to lush boreal and lofty alpine terrain, and uncovers some of the rich human history and present-day cultural diversity unique to this region of New Mexico.

2023年3月24日 · This is now a full-day-plus side hike with an option to climb a nice tall peak along the way, and to revel in the unique landscape (open seasonally following elk calving in early summer). Both the old and new routes are about the same length, making the full Loop a bit over 500 miles, all told.

2024年8月8日 · I got to Santa Fe after learning that the Indios Fire had shut down a portion of the CDT, collocated with the Northern New Mexico Loop (NNML) between Cuba and Ghost Ranch. If I started out of Santa Fe, I’d have to add the 31-mile reroute along 2 highways.
