2019年5月4日 · But these days I’m all excited about the blushing ornamental tobacco (Nicotiana mutabilis). A recently identified species from Brazil (it wasn’t officially described until 2002), N. mutabilis is a dramatic plant with low, paddle-shape basal foliage and open, wiry branching.

This giant Brazilian, show-stopper blooms year around along the coast and will quickly and easily reach 5’– 6’ – 8’ tall, creating a cloud of sensational 1” blooms at least 3’ across. Each flower starts out white and ages to pale pink, then rose – with all colors appearing at the same time. Trust me, it’s awesome!

Nicotiana mutabilis is a broadleaf deciduous annual / biennial or perennial with green foliage. In summer cream and pink flowers emerge. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens.
