The North Dakota Emergency Management Association is an organization dedicated to the advancement of effective Emergency Management in North Dakota. The Association seeks to promote professional growth among its members through information exchange, pertinent programs and classes, and direct experience.

The NDEMA has three levels of Emergency Management certification: Level I, Level II, and Level III (Full Certification). Certification requirements for each level and the application for certification or renewal are available below.

The National Emergency Management Basic Academy (NEMBA) is a gateway for individuals pursuing a career in emergency management. Similar to basic academies operated by the fire service and law enforcement communities, the National Emergency Management Basic Academy will provide a foundational education in emergency management.

Participants are provided with knowledge on the planning process, the different types of emergency operations plan formats, and the components of each.

NEMA provides national leadership and expertise in comprehensive emergency management; serves as a vital emergency management information and assistance resource; and advances continuous improvement in emergency management through strategic partnerships, innovative programs, and collaborative policy positions.

NDEMA Membership The membership year is January 1st - December 31st. Membership dues shall be paid to the Secretary-Treasurer by February 15th of each calendar year.
