Helene is forecast to intensify and be near hurricane strength when it reaches the far northwestern Caribbean Sea early Wednesday. Tropical storm conditions are expected over portions of western Cuba and the northeastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula with hurricane conditions possible.

Visitors may reach the National Hurricane Center from the Florida Turnpike (State Road 821). From the Florida Turnpike, take the SW 8 th Street exit (Tamiami Trail or 41) east. From SW 8 th Street turn south on SW 117 th Avenue, and follow south to SW 17 th Street.

Milton is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Data from the aircraft also indicate that the minimum pressure has fallen to 940 mb (27.76 inches). These changes will be reflected in the normal 10 AM CDT (1500 UTC) advisory.
