2025年2月7日 · The trail traverses the Hono o Na Pali Natural Area Reserve in the small hanging valleys of Ho’olulu and Waiahuakua before entering Hanakoa Valley. The reserve harbors a variety of native lowland forest plants.

Hanakapiai Falls (or Hanakapi’ai Falls) is a very tall (maybe 300ft) waterfall nestled deep in the back of Hanakapi’ai Valley – one of the valleys within the famously scenic and rugged Na Pali Coast in northwestern Kaua’i.

At the far end of the beach there is a waterfall and stream feeding into the ocean providing fresh water for your camp. The ocean is powerful out there, you may want earbuds to sleep. You may encounter magical fairy people with children and puppies in the woods of the valley.

Of the many waterfalls that we spotted on our Na Pali Coast tour, I’d have to say the following waterfalls were the highlights… Waiahuakua Falls – this was the waterfall flowing into a sea cave (called Waiahuakua Sea Cave) through a hole in its ceiling.

Follow in the footsteps of ancient Hawaiians. This 11-mile stretch of coast is the original trail used by the Hawaiians who lived in Kalalau Valley and other valleys along the Napali. The Kalalau Trail provides the only land access to the Napali Coast on Kauai.

The most popular hike on Na Pali is to Hanakapi`ai where you will find a lush river valley. You can hike 8 miles (roundtrip) to a waterfall or 4 miles (roundtrip) to Hanakapi`ai Beach.

Pristine sandy coves dot the remote coast. Waterfalls flow down the cliff faces, and sea arches and caves add visual interest. To add to the attraction, the waters of the coast are home to marine life, from playful dolphins to fish, turtles and more.
