The Musk Ox Farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to gentle musk ox husbandry, production of qiviut, and education to the public.

The Musk Ox Farm is nestled in the pastoral Matanuska Valley just outside of Palmer, Alaska, a scenic fifty-minute drive from downtown Anchorage. Our picturesque Colony farm, where we continue a unique domestication project, begun sixty years ago, is home to a lively herd of over seventy musk oxen, from powerful bulls to frolicking calves.

After nearly reaching extinction in the 1940's and 1950's, the first Musk Ox Farm began in Fairbanks in 1964. Since then, it's grown into what it is today - a full blown qivuit producing, working Musk Ox Farm that encourages visitors to learn more about the endangered Musk Ox.
