The hike to Blanca and Elingwood is very beautiful as you pass the alpine lakes. The climb after the lakes is hard and scary (for the inexperienced) but well worth it. Blanca has spectacular views across the Rio-Grande Vally and can see most of the Sangre de Cristo range, including several other 14ers, and the east side of the San Juan Range.
