Jan 20, 2020 · I assembled MS660 Farmertec clone kit last month and was glad all parts were there 100% and quality was good. The saw runs very well and has lots of power. As recommended by some members on this forum, I used Stihl OEM decompression valve and wrist pin needle bearing, as well as Hyway crankcase seal kit. Everything else is what came in the kit.

Oct 28, 2024 · I have a MS660 that I have used for years with a 1/4 -20 holding one side of the cylinder on . Does not seem to mind. I repaired a MS201TC that had rattled the 5 MM muffler screws out with 12-24 a few months ago . Holding up fine with a tree service that could wreck an anvil with a spaghetti noodle.

Nov 21, 2009 · Here's a couple of shots of the stock ports. After the machine work the height of the exhaust port is 4° lower.....that's a good thing on the MS660. Care must be taken not to raise it any during the porting process. It's at 98° now.

Feb 7, 2011 · Well, at least this post is consistent with what I said back in Post #5. Maybe we are getting somewhere. I've set the high-end RPM on my "new" rebuilt MS660 at 13,400. It's idling very nicely at 2500 RPM with a 32" bar and chain on board. Seems comfortable there. No significant chain creep, and that's important.

May 9, 2004 · Steevo, I actually own an 066. Mine's one or two years prior to the MS660 and I believe it's sufficiently evolved that the only change between them is the nameplate. The muffler exhaust openings are a formed slot and tiny hole.
