Jul 31, 2022 · I think Sauron would borrow heavily from the iconography of Melkor, especially after his demise. I personally like the mace because it also resembles a rod, which befits an unholy sorcerer, but that's just my D&D reasoning.

Wow, I loved what we got in the show with Morgoth's silhouette behind the tree but this would have been awesome too. Great armor design and it's cool to see him holding the silmarils. I saw an Angbang fanart with Melkor saying to Sauron: "You’re the only beautiful thing that Eru created," and now I can’t stop thinking about how accurate that is. I mean, we’re told many times that Melkor craved beauty, how he desired light, was tempted by it, and only turned to destruction and chaos when he couldn’t possess it.
