After 25 years of dancing with The Royal Ballet companies, Guest Principle Miyako Yoshida has announced her retirement. Miyako won a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School at the age of 17 after winning the coveted Prix de Lausanne competition.

Miyako Yoshida was born in Japan in 1965 and began her training in Tokyo. In 1983, at the age of seventeen, she won the coveted Prix de Lausanne competition which gave her a scholarship to The Royal Ballet School.

Yoshida: I am coming up with lots of ideas, and my dreams are just getting bigger and bigger. I'm still not sure how far I can go to achieve what I am thinking about, but I hope I can pass on this precious ballet company to the next Artistic Director in better form.
