2020年4月28日 · Re: Mind Flayer playable race for 5e balancing Well, since races are a small part of the overall package in 5E, it's unlikely to break anything even if it IS unbalanced. A race that has immunity to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage is obviously OP as all hell.

Added one more increase to Tentacles and Brain Extraction damage (to get as close to full mind flayer damage as possible). Mind Blast recharging on a short rest moved here. EDIT: Corrected Brain Extraction to be specifically dependent on Mind Stun.

2016年1月23日 · While scouting, we found a mind flayer accompanied by ~10ish ghasts. Assuming the DM didn't weaken them in any way, this is likely a 3-4x deadly encounter for our level 5 party. We have some things working in our favor that make it less suicidal: We know where the mind flayer is and they don't know we're coming, so we have setup time if we need it.

2023年10月12日 · To be fair, the mind flayer would probably be able to crack apart a warforged's head as easily as any other humanoid's skull, so it's not unreasonable to let them be similarly damaged. There would be no brain inside to eat (at least in the case of a typical warforged), so the mind flayer would be rather disappointed.
