2020年8月4日 · I’m writing today to let you know that Mike Farrell, senior vice president of operations, is leaving Norfolk Southern, effective today. Mike’s understanding of precision-scheduled railroading has been an asset to our company over the last two years. We appreciate his drive for efficiency and his willingness to challenge the status quo.

That’s Mike Clayton, the man behind Pentrex. He was a camera salesman for Thomson-CSF selling Betacams to the TV industry. He borrowed one of the company demonstrator cameras figuring he would make some nice footage to show at trade show booths. So many on the 4449 trip asked if they could buy a copy of the tape…the rest is history.
