It's not smoke its vapor. Meth in its gaseous state. We put meth in its solid state in our pipe. Add heat and it turns to its liquid state. When the temperature reaches meth's boiling point it turns to gas. If you get it any hotter it burns the meth up and becomes smoke. The smoke is no longer meth. Not trying to be a smart ass.
