2019年6月26日 · The S2000 it's just a different car. I would compared it more to a C5 Coupe than a Miata. The S2000 has less storage space, a bit louder interior, and reminds me of the 90s VTEC Hondas. The newer models get more refined but still are harsher than the Miatas.

To put my comment above another way, if we account for inflation, the 2022 BRZ and Miata are $30,000-$35,000 cars, while the S2000 is almost a $50,000 car. Mazda and Subaru know that there isn’t a place for a $50,000 sports car in today’s market.

2024年1月25日 · I get what Mazda was going for but it just doesn't work for serious driving. It's an easy fix though, just coilovers, sways, and a proper alignment. The motor is never going to feel like an F20/22 but in a 2300 lb car it doesn't need it, and the ND2 is pretty revvy. Steering and brakes (I had Brembos) are both better than the S2000 out of the box.

2011年5月1日 · S2000 every time. It's much more of a sports car, drives better, faster and equally reliable to the Mazda. The S2000 is regarded to be one of the best handling roadsters ever and the MX-5, although fun, is by no means fast (or manly).

2015年9月21日 · Miata wins in physical dimensions, being lighter, lower and less overhang on both sides. However, the S2000 wins in track (slightly) and has slightly longer wheelbase which I think is good because the Miata is too close. I think 95" is about perfect for handling which is about where the S2000 is, but it really depends on use and the car.

2022年1月29日 · A well cared for example is probably more reliable than the BRZ. I never use the radio anyway because when I take out the S2000 I’m focused on the driving…plus the sound system is awful, unless we’re talking about the engine note! Yes, they are small and don’t try to use the cup holders, but the trunk isn’t too bad.

That is still not an even comparison from a cost standpoint. The miata is a one year old car that is under warranty and the s2000 is a seven year old car out of warranty. There are a lot of things to worry about with that s2000 to keep it in good condition: namely the top and the seats. Though, I would still rather have the s2000 in silverstone.
