As an addendum, perusing the list, I wish they'd gotten the Macross Plus 4-part OVA along with or in lieu of the Movie, as I've always liked the pacing and the narrative differences in the OVA over the movie. Both are great (Macross Plus is my favorite of the entire series, essentially my gateway into the larger world of anime in the mid-90s).

Though, Frontier is still a Better "Modern" Macross series wich perfectly Balance the new and old Fans I know 7 is like the Most hated Macross in the West. But, I really liked 7. 2020年3月17日 · Many of the flaws that the TV series had were fixed here such as the characters, the animation, and the pacing somewhat, but several things are retconned from the TV series, and one of the signature elements of Macross is completely omitted in the movie. Probably the weakest Macross movie in the series, but it's still a good watch nonetheless.

2017年11月9日 · Dat space-porn. Macross is finally shown for the technological wonder that it really is. I'm in awe of the fact that this was animated by hand. I always liked how Macross took full advantage of it's space-setting. Orientation-be-damned, there is no down here. This Macross was designed with a civilian population in mind.

There was the use of Macross 2 songs, Macross Plus songs, and like a dozen other in-universe artists that made it feel like Fire Bomber was growing in the industry and made their rise feel special. You could get some of these bespoke tracks on the "Music Selection from the Galaxy Network Chart" volumes one and two.

2023年1月28日 · Honest answer: just watch it in production order from 1982 to present and skip any entry you particularly dislike. If you want to watch all of Macross that's probably the most sensible way of doing it. On the other hand, Macross is much less continuity -heavy than the likes of Gundam or Yamato, so don't worry about it too much.

For the "Macross" portion of it, the story is mostly unchanged, only starting to deviate towards the end to set up the next part of the story. That being said, it should be treated as its own thing. If your goal is to get into Macross and continue on with other Macross shows as well, stick with Macross and don't watch Robotech. Or watch both.
