Jan 10, 2022 · A macropad that would be acceptable here is one that is dedicated to running just macros. This isn't the place for full keyboards that can run macros, and this isn't the place for one handed keyboards like the Razer Tartarus or similar.

This is probably a stupid question: I bought a Megladon and it's on the way, this is my first macropad. I saw that there are devices with screens that show to you the function of the macro keys in different layers. Is it a mistake to buy a macropad with no display If I won't be able to remember which key does which function?

I am using a Gherkin as a macropad. In Adobe CC Suite, I have it assigned to all the tools and a few shortcuts based on the app I am working with. In games, I usually have it assigned to the various weapons (since I am using a 40% which lacks the number row).
Describe me the perfect macropad : r/MechanicalKeyboards - Reddit
Feb 7, 2023 · For myself, the perfect "macropad" is a Layer key, whether it is a Tap key, or a Toggle key. That creates a 68-key "macropad", directly on the 69-key "keyboard" I'm already using. It makes no sense to me, to leave those 69 keys I'm already typing on, and move my hand over to a separate device, to hit a dedicated key there.

The software turned out to be a little sketchy, but Windows Defender didn't complain about it and I'm only 10% concerned that it might be malicious garbage. Anyway, the macropad is working very well now for me.

Nov 1, 2021 · If you want cheap, you can try the raspberry Pi pico macropad on tindie. There is a 4x4 and a 5x5. It will give you soldering practice and a platform to test switches too. It doesn't run qmk but circuit python. If you want something qmk compatible, the 4x4 from 40percentclub might be a good start. There might be other ones out there too.

Dec 1, 2020 · The two with the 13 switches, Lucky13 macropads, are pretty much the point that I decided to put EVERYTHING I could possibly use QMK for into a macropad. I literally went down the list of QMK features and put everything in there - haptics, OLED, multi switch, wireless support, hotswap, per key RGB, joystick support, everything.
