In this configuration, any pressure on the sling pushing it against the bottom of the rifle results in protection of the wood by contact with the cotton web of the sling only.

2015年4月28日 · Possibly the various hole positions are numbered. I use 07 slings by Turner Saddlery. These are very nice. The sling holes are numbered which makes it very easy to shift the sling from parade position to various positions needed for shooting prone and sitting to carry in the woods and fields. You have a beautiful M-1 Garand.

I just received a NM second from Turner Slings (for the life of me I can't figure out why it's a second!!) and need to know how to install the sling on an M1 as a simple carry sling and how to use the sling when shooting.

2018年3月20日 · I have a WW II web M1 Garand sling. It's the type with the flat keeper and raised button on the front tab. My issue is that I can't get the raised button through the keeper. It's really tight and I can't get it through even using a lot of force. I don't want to damage anything. Am I missing something here?

2012年2月16日 · If you could turn back the clock to 1939 and look at the sling on an M1 Garand, you would find that it had the same sling that was used on the 1903 Springfild. This was the M1907 leather sling with brass hooks. Move the clock forward to about 1941 and you might find a M1907 leather sling with parkerized steel hooks.

2013年10月20日 · The most likely sling to be ON an early M1 would, in fact, be a World War I Model of 1907. Web slings weren't even authorized, and Rock Island wasn't producing many until after the very end of 1941. The earlier Kerr and similar slings were NEVER standard on any rifle after about 1925, and "standard" is mis-applied even to the M.1923.

2010年5月21日 · So either a M1907 leather or a M1 web sling are possible, even during the Korean War. If you look at WW2 era photos in the pre-1943 timeframe you see M1907 slings, from 1944 and on you see more and more M1 web slings. Go look on milsurps at the M1 pciture of the day forum or on jouster at the picture of the day threads.

Terry WHY on earth would the SLING KEEPER of the M1 web sling "dig into the back of your hand" with a properly set-up HASTY sling (it works equally well with the M1 web sling and the M1907 leather sling)?
