The North Division has approximately 110 police officers and a dedicated civilian support staff. We are committed to public safety partnerships with our residents, business owners, and civic leaders to deter crime and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

Similar to many major cities across the nation, we are experiencing an increase in crime here in Long Beach. While overall violent crime is down 1.4%, we experienced a 5.9% increase in murder and 18.6% in aggravated assault.

The Long Beach Police Department wants everyone to be safe and feel safe in Long Beach. In response to recent incidents in the downtown area, the Department has launched a collaborative effort to address crime and enhance public safety in our community.
