Lin Tian is a Chinese-American neuroscientist and biochemist. She is a Scientific Director of the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter, FL, and was formerly a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Davis. [1]

Dr. Lin Tian started as Scientific Director of the Max Planck Florida Institute in October 2023. Before this, she was the Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at the University of California Davis School of Medicine.

Lin Tian, PhD is a Scientific Director at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. The Tian Laboratory for Optical Neurophysiology engineers biosensors and optical probes for monitoring and controlling brain activity in living, behaving research animals.

I was accepted by the BMCDB graduate program at UC Davis in 2018, and now I am a Ph.D. student with Dr. Tian to continue engineering novel indicators to understand more about neuroscience and biochemistry and push the field forward with the technologies that we developed in Tian Lab.

Jan 24, 2024 · Update (2023.10.16): Professor Lin Tian, PhD was appointed as the third Scientific Director of the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI). She will continue as a clinical professor at UC Davis in addition to her role at MPFI. Dr. Tian's lab has a new website, launched in January 2024.
