While neither unit is the best performing HRV on the market, on paper both units seem to provide an effective HRV at a reasonable price. Can anyone provide any experiences with the units? Are there any other reasons to select one over the other?

2020年7月18日 · I am trying to pick an HRV that will be hung from trusses in the conditioned attic directly over the guest bedroom – so noise is a concern. Looking at units from the usual (affordable) suspects – Broan/Venmar, Fantech, Lifebreath – with ~110-120 max cfm.

2018年12月22日 · From what I've read, the benefit of ECM motors is their ability to operate at different speeds without losing efficiency. Quite often, HRV / ERV specs are reported at a single setting (the one at which it shows the best number). That might be part of the explanation, but I'm just guessing. Maybe a good question to ask Lifebreath.

2010年9月20日 · I am installing a LifeBreath 155ECM HRV in a new home. It will be exhausting air from 3 bathrooms spread across 2 stories. The HVAC sub is recommending installing separate bathroom exhaust fans for local exhaust (shower moisture, odor, etc.). An energy star consultant says this is not necessary and redundant.

And according to the manual (see belowl), it seems that this machine doesn't handle very cold weather very well. They don't speak about defrosting anywhere else." I got my ecoEnergy Retrofit final energy evaluation back, it's a Canadian retrofit program. The house scored an 84 out of a 100. The evaluation report doesn't actualy provide an meaningful information, just the score which is used to calculate your rebate. Most of the marks were for the geoexchange system I put in! I called up the evaluator and was able to get some useful information from him ...

I just saw the posts about the Panasonic Intelli Balance 100 ERV. Does anybody make a similar HRV? Something with a price point under $1,000, good efficiency and at least 50+cfm airflow? A unit like that would make me reconsider an exhaust-only system. The closest I've found are the Braun HRV160 ECM units. --John
