Etymology/connection between Ari, Aryeh, Yehudah, Leib, and Leibel
Leib is a transliteration of LEV - or heart. In addition, Hebrew adjectives follow nouns which is vice versa to English. So you and I would write in English, "he is a clever boy" but the Hebrew translation would read "he is a boy clever". Hence, Ariyeh Leib - translated means "Lion-heart" - a popular mediaeval name.
