To achieve the Level 3 Award in British Sign Language, students must pass three separate units which develop and assess productive and receptive skills. The learner must give a presentation in BSL, hold an informal conversation in BSL and pass a receptive skills exam to pass the course.

On completion of the BSL Level 6 certificate students may progress onto either Signature Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting or in Sign Language Translation.
