CD98 - Wikipedia
CD98 is a glycoprotein [1] [2] that is a heterodimer composed of SLC3A2 and SLC7A5 that forms the large neutral amino acid transporter (LAT1). LAT1 is a heterodimeric membrane transport protein that preferentially transports branched-chain ( valine , leucine , isoleucine ) and aromatic ( tryptophan , tyrosine , phenylalanine ) amino acids . L-Type amino acid transporter 1 as a target for drug delivery
Due to the significant up-regulation of LAT1 expression in several human tumors, LAT1 has been an attractive transporter for targeted delivery of amino acid-derived anticancer drugs and prodrugs as well as positron emission tomography (PET) probes for cancer diagnosis.
The Regulation and Function of the L-Type Amino Acid …
Increasing the uptake of leucine into cells is the most effective way that LAT1 promotes the activity of Mechanistic Target of Rapamycin Kinase Complex 1 (mTORC1). LAT1 not only supports mTORC1 activity, it also reinforces MYC and EZH2 signaling in cancer cells. We will review these LAT1-supported downstream effects.

2024年12月25日 · (Microbial infection) In case of hepatitis C virus/HCV infection, the complex formed by SLC3A2 and SLC7A5/LAT1 plays a role in HCV propagation by facilitating viral entry into host cell and increasing L-leucine uptake-mediated mTORC1 signaling activation, thereby contributing to HCV-mediated pathogenesis.

2025年2月14日 · LAT1 (SLC7A5) transports large neutral amino acids and plays pivotal roles in cancer proliferation, immune response and drug delivery. Despite recent advances in structural understanding of...
The Role of Large Neutral Amino Acid Transporter (LAT1) in Cancer
LAT1 (also known as SLC7A5), is defined as a heteromeric amino acid transporter (HAT) interacting with the glycoprotein CD98 (SLC3A2) through a conserved disulfide to uptake not only large neutral amino acids, but also several pharmaceutical drugs to cells.
LAT1 - Transporters - Solvo Biotechnology
LAT1 is a heterodimeric, sodium- and pH-independent amino acid transporter. ‘L-type’ in its traditional name refers to its classification with ‘System L’, i.e. the leucine-preferring group of amino acid transporters.
Amino acid transporter LAT1 (SLC7A5) as a molecular target for …
2022年2月1日 · The inhibition of LAT1 suppresses protein synthesis by downregulating the mTORC1 signaling pathway and mobilizing the general amino acid control (GAAC) pathway in cancer cells. LAT1 is, thus, a candidate molecular target …
Mechanism of substrate transport and inhibition of the human LAT1 …
2021年3月23日 · LAT1 (SLC7A5) is one of the representative light chain proteins of heteromeric amino acid transporters, forming a heterodimer with its heavy chain partner 4F2hc (SLC3A2). LAT1 is...
LAT1, a novel pharmacological target for the treatment of
In this article, we review the available data on the role of LAT1 in the regulation of GBM biology, including its potential role in the tumour microenvironment, particularly in infiltrating-peripheral immune cells and resident microglial cells.
