Jan 30, 2003 · Real sub drivers have repair sets enabling you to replace the cone and the coil, Klipsch 2.1 most likely is ready for dumpster. Edit: If you're REAL lucky the overheat + over extension may just have blown your bass drivers dust cap loose. That will produce a nasty sound. The dust cap can be glued back quite easily.

The guys pulling the strings on what components go in Klipsch speakers are no longer particularly interested in "keeping the sound" so much as "keeping more money".

Dec 4, 2007 · I've had 3 complete sets of Klipsch speakers, the Promedia 2.1, the 5.1 Ultra (currently on my PC), and a bookshelf Synnergy Series setup with a KSW-12 on a decent-ish Denon receiver (don't know model numbers off the top of my head but will happily provide them when I get home if you're curious) on home theater duty.

Jan 17, 2008 · I have the promedia 2.1s and just recently, the left side seems to have just died. Both speakers are fine as I have swapped them back and forth and all three fuses are OK as well. When using the headphones, the left side doesn't work either. I'm not good with electronics, but looking at the internals, nothing looks noticeably wrong.
