The Town of Kirkwood is located in the central part of Broome County, west of the towns of Colesville and Windsor, south of the Town of Fenton and east of the towns of Conklin and Dickinson and the City of Binghamton.
The History of the Town of Kirkwood
The Town of Kirkwood lies on the Northern side of the Susquehanna River and extends from the Pennsylvania border to the city limits of Binghamton, NY. Although the town was formed in 1859, its history can be traced to its earlier Native American inhabitants whose artifacts can still be found along the river's banks and flatlands.

The Kirkwood Historical Society meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from April - December. Meetings take place in the basement community room of the schoolhouse starting at 5:30 p.m. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend any of the regular meetings and events.
