We took the 0630 shinkansen from tokyo to Kyoto. Got to Kyoto around 0830. Dropped off our luggage and made it to kichi kichi around 930. Got the password and scanned the QR code to have the website. Put an alarm for 1 pm and booked a 5 pm dinner rezzie right at 1 pm. I don't know if they have lunch every day.

Barring your opinion of the place, I managed to get reservations today for kichi kichi. If you're trying, here are some tips: Already know ahead of time the day, people, and time you want to go. You're racing for 8 seats at the counter. Anywhere else you'll need to walk in. From what I could tell, it's only weekends that were open.

Kichi Kichi is a place in Kyoto famous for its omurice. Omurice is a western influenced Japanese dish. It's basically an omelette over rice with a brown sauce. The one I had in Tokyo was beefy and slightly sweet. It's okay, kind of bland.
