Kershaw Damascus - Worth It? | BladeForums.com
Oct 24, 2005 · The Damascus used by Kershaw is a quality american made carbon steel damascus. I'm not sure what RC it's run at but it IMO sharpens like what it is. Using DMT diamonds it seems somewhat like 5160, or Case CV ( run a tiny bit harder).

Mar 6, 2008 · The damascus takes a GREAT edge! You can get it scary sharp with standard bench stones and stropping. It seems to hold the edge reasonably well too. I would recomend the Kershaw Damascus Leek. Good value for the money.
Kershaw Double Cross with Damascus blades - BladeForums.com
Mar 2, 1999 · Recently picked this up from Kershawguy aka Dave, thanks again Dave  It's a modest size folder, looking more traditional than modern but there are some modern touches used in the design of this knife; both blades sport a thumbstud both blades use the center divider as a liner lock...

Mar 16, 2005 · It's really easy to sharpen too. I also own a Bradley Kimura with a 13C26 blade. The Skyline holds an edge much better in my opinion. The Kimura blade seems to be softer than the damascus Skyline. Besides, the damascus is beautiful. Imo, For the extra $10, I think it's worth the extra money to get the damascus. Good luck on your purchase.
Kershaw Zing or Kershaw Leek Damascus | BladeForums.com
Jun 21, 2009 · No, real damascus (like on the Kershaw) is alive and well, and can be found in a lot of production and custom knives these days. There are some companies that sell "damascus-like" or "damascus-finish" knives, which are just plain steel with the damascus patter etched into the surface, however, so be sure to read discriptions carefully.
Kershaw's damascus - BladeForums.com
Dec 24, 2013 · It's easy to sharpen and touch up, and it is pretty tough (there's a pic of a Damascus Leek that had its blade twisted into a corkscrew shape without breaking). It isn't a stainless Damascus steel, so if you are in a rust-prone environment, do keep that in mind. The etching will lighten as you use the blade (faster if you cut more abrasive things).
Kershaw Salvo - BladeForums.com
Oct 5, 2006 · The pass around knife has a Damascus blade that appears to have been discontinued. It had an MSRP of $84.95. Sandvik versions are about $20 less. The US made Salvo really seems to be a Kershaw Leek 2.0, taking some of the classic folder’s weak points and improving upon them.
Damascus, just for looks or? - BladeForums.com
Mar 21, 2006 · You know, before I had my Kershaw Zing in damascus, I wasn't sure just how well it would hold up. For my job, I cut open a lot of cardboard boxes and packages, and I have found it to hold an edge much better than I expected. I don't know just how well it compares to other steels, and I think it relies greatly on what the damascus is made from.
