KCNQ channels - Wikipedia
KCNQ genes encode family members of the Kv7 potassium channel family. These include K v 7.1 (KCNQ1) - KvLQT1, K v 7.2 (KCNQ2), K v 7.3 (KCNQ3), K v 7.4 (KCNQ4), and K v 7.5 (KCNQ5). Four of these (KCNQ2-5) are expressed in the nervous system.
KCNQ potassium channels: physiology, pathophysiology, and
KCNQ genes encode a growing family of six transmembrane domains, single pore-loop, K (+) channel alpha-subunits that have a wide range of physiological correlates. KCNQ1 (KvLTQ1) is co-assembled with the product of the KCNE1 (minimal K (+)-channel protein) gene in the heart to form a cardiac-delayed rectifier-like K (+) current.
Neuronal KCNQ potassium channels:physislogy and role in …
2000年10月1日 · Humans have over 70 potassium channel genes, but only some of these have been linked to disease. In this respect, the KCNQ family of potassium channels is exceptional: mutations in four out of...
KCNQs: Ligand- and Voltage-Gated Potassium Channels
2020年6月22日 · Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels in the KCNQ (Kv7) family are essential features of a broad range of excitable and non-excitable cell types and are found in organisms ranging from Hydra vulgaris to Homo sapiens.
KCNQ potassium channels in sensory system and neural circuits
2015年12月21日 · This review will update readers on the roles of KCNQ channels in the sensory system and neural circuits as well as discuss their respective mechanisms and the implications for physiology and...
Neural KCNQ (Kv7) channels - PubMed
KCNQ genes encode five Kv7 K(+) channel subunits (Kv7.1-Kv7.5). Four of these (Kv7.2-Kv7.5) are expressed in the nervous system. Kv7.2 and Kv7.3 are the principal molecular components of the slow voltage-gated M-channel, which widely regulates neuronal excitability, although other subunits may contr …
Voltage-gated potassium channels KCNQs: Structures, …
2023年12月31日 · KCNQ (Kv7) channels are voltage-gated, phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate- (PIP 2 -) modulated potassium channels that play essential roles in regulating the activity of neurons and cardiac myocytes.
KCNQ-Encoded Potassium Channels as Therapeutic Targets
2018年1月6日 · K v 7 channels are voltage-gated potassium channels encoded by KCNQ genes that have a considerable physiological impact in many cell types. This reliance upon K v 7 channels for normal cellular function, as well as the existence of hereditary disorders caused by mutations to KCNQ g …

2001年4月1日 · KCNQ genes encode a growing family of six transmembrane domains, single pore-loop, K + channel α-subunits that have a wide range of physiological correlates.
Potassium Channels (including KCNQ) and Epilepsy
Many experimental proconvulsants bind and block K+ channels; others inhibit K+ channels indirectly via intracellular messengers. Conversely, openers of one K+ channel subfamily, alternatively called the KCNQ, Kv7, or M-channels, have emerged as a …
