There are lots of contradictions, perspective, unreliable narrators, and expansions. To try and boil all of that down to just some encyclopedia-like info dumps is, for me, missing the entire subtext of the setting.

Even the off-world Blade Runner wiki simply says he lays severely wounded at the end and doesn't label him as "deceased".
